Elemental reflection
Focal white light relaxes into manageable colour:
tranquil water reflects the deep warm orange glow.
Translucent clouds give way to a grey void.
Below them, reality is earthed in humped hilly shapes.
Filigreed trees, carefully delicate, stand motionless.
Their tall sentinel is lake-mirrored,
slim lifeline touching the spiky sedge,
mystic connection
linking water, treed landscape, fiery sky
and all-creating, all-embracing light.
